Background
Code for All serves as a vibrant international network of 31 civic tech organizations. We are committed to fostering digital innovation, citizen engagement, and transparent governance.
We are seeking a Grant Writer, ideally someone with an understanding of our network and/or of civic tech. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere globally.
The work is urgent, and the role is a part-time, short-term contract for the month of August 2024.
Key Responsibilities
- Write grant proposal on behalf of Code for All under guidance of Code for All network leads.
- The grant proposal has a submission deadline of September 3, 2024.
Who we’re looking for
- Exceptional command of written English is essential.
- A knack for understanding and grasping strategy and translating it into a simple written plan for grant proposals.
- Openness to feedback and ability to revise content quickly based on feedback.
- Ability to follow instructions in detail, as written out in the grant application form.
- Ability to write grant proposals quickly and compellingly.
- A proactive and adaptive approach to work, with a knack for problem-solving and a readiness to handle various approaches to execute tasks effectively.
Essential Skills
- Strong writing and communication skills capable of meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficient in simplifying complex technical and civic concepts into relatable content.
- Background in writing clearly and concisely.
Desirable Skills
- Keen interest in technology, governance, democracy, or civic tech.
Commitment
- Contract for 1 month starting August 4, 2024.
- Part-time role (estimated at 20-30 hours per week).
